Sometimes it’s not life that’s holding us back, but the inner stories and patterns we’ve learned to live by.

We work together to understand these patterns, create space for difficult thoughts and feelings, and help you move forward in ways that feel more authentic.

OUR APPROACH

How Our TherapyWorks

Your journey is unique, and we want to hear it. Understanding your experiences is at the heart of meaningful therapy.

We Get to Know You

We Develop a Plan

Together, we take a step back to understand the bigger picture- exploring the patterns, experiences, and factors contributing to your pain. From there, we collaboratively create a personalized and flexible plan that supports your unique needs and goals.

We Help You Grow

We walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, explore what feels heavy, and try out new perspectives and behaviours. Each session builds on the last, helping you reconnect with what truly matters and move toward a life that reflects your values - adjusting our approach as you grow and develop new skills along the way.

Frequently Asked
Questions

  • Psychotherapy, often called “talk therapy,” is a collaborative process where you work with a trained therapist to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns. It provides a safe, supportive space to understand what’s contributing to your stress and burnout, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful changes in your life.

Therapy is not about being judged or “fixed”- it’s about gaining insight, support, and tools to navigate challenges and reconnect with your energy, balance, and well-being.

  • You can browse our therapists’ bios on our team page. If you have questions or need additional assistance finding the right therapist, please contact us via our contact form or send your inquiry to info@awelcominghomepsychotherapy.ca

  • During your first therapy session, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and your medical and mental health history. Your therapist may also ask questions about your current symptoms and how they are impacting your daily life.

  • Psychotherapists registered with the CRPO are typically covered for individuals who are living in Ontario. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm whether your plan covers mental health services from a Registered Psychotherapist.

  • You can click here on any of the “Book An Appointment” or  “Book A Consultation” buttons throughout the website (also at the top of the page). You will be directed to our scheduling system, Jane. From there, you can schedule with your selected therapist, complete online forms, reschedule or cancel appointments and message your therapist.

  • All therapy sessions (including initial intake and follow-up) are 50 minutes.
